Labour Market Opinion / Arranged Employment OPINION

Applicants who have permanent job offers in Canada in occupations listed in Skill Type 0, or Skill Level A or B, of the National Occupational Classification (NOC) are eligible to each receive 10 points in the factor of Arranged Employment as well as an additional 5 points in the factor of Adaptability. These 15 points could, in some cases, be crucial to the applicant meeting or failing to meet the current pass mark. Skilled Worker applicants who also have work permits in Canada and/or positive labour market opinions from Human Resources and Social Development Canada (HRSDC) should therefore advise the Canadian High Commission of these facts either when they submit their permanent residence applications or, if they already have permanent residence applications in process, as soon as possible after the job offers have been approved by HRSDC.

The approval of a job offer by HRSDC is an indication that a foreign worker is required to address a skill or labour shortage in Canada. Permanent residence applications from those with approved permanent job offers can therefore be considered and processed more quickly than if the applicants do not have job offers in Canada.
