Family Class: 6 months

Provincial Nominee, Quebec, Arranged Employment Offers: 6 months

In Person: Same day processing

Drop-In Service: 24 Hours

By Mail: 10 working days

Students: 6 weeks

All applications in all categories are dealt with in strict chronological sequence, i.e. in the order in which they are received.

All applicants for permanent residence are sent an Acknowledgement of Receipt within 12 weeks from the date we receive a completed application. The Acknowledgement provides details of processing times. Please read it carefully.

*Average processing times might not be indicative of the times required to process particular applications. Nationals of the following countries applying for a visa at our offices may be subject to longer processing times: Afghanistan, Albania, Angola, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia-Hercegovina, Burundi, Cambodia, China (PRC), Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of Congo, Croatia, Cuba, El Salvador, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Georgia, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Libya, Macedonia, Moldova, Nigeria, North Korea, Palestine Authority, Russia, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, Serbia-Montenegro, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tadjikistan, Taiwan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
