TEMPORARY WORKER APPLICATIONS

INTRA-COMPANY TRANSFEREE

The following information applies to an intra-company transferee seeking to enter Canada.

If you are a national of a country whose citizens require a temporary resident visa (click on this link to view the list) then you should include your passport when submitting your documentation. If you do not require a visa, a photocopy will suffice.

All applicants must submit the following documents to the High Commission:

1.  Application form - Each applicant must submit a fully completed and signed application FORM (IMM1295B) which should include a day time telephone number. A separate application form is required if your spouse wishes to apply for an open work permit. Please refer to the Worker Section home page.

2.  Processing Fee - Basic fee $150 per application for work permit. See the FEES page for full information on the processing fees which apply to you.

When posting your application, DO NOT SEND CASH. IT WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. The fee must be paid by bank draft in Canadian Dollars and can be purchased at most major banks. This draft should be made payable to:

RECEIVER GENERAL FOR CANADA

Please write your name and address and telephone number on the reverse of your bank draft.

We can only accept a bankers draft in Canadian Dollars or postal orders in UK pounds sterling for applications made in person at our office for Work Permits.  No cash will be accepted.

This fee is non-refundable regardless of the outcome of your application.

3.  Photographs - Two passport sized photographs of yourself. Please write your name on the back.

4.  Detailed CV.

5.  Reference letter - A reference letter from present employer which describes the relationship between the enterprise in Canada and in the UK, and provides details of secondment.

6.  Job Offer - A letter from Canadian affiliate / subsidiary explaining how your knowledge is “highly specialized” (for applicants falling into this category) or describe the seniority of your management role.

If you or your spouse undertake an occupation in childcare / healthcare, you will be required to undergo a medical examination.

For processing times, please refer to the following webpage. Unfortunately, because of the volume of applications, we cannot acknowledge receipt of applications or answer routine case status requests within the processing times indicated.
