FOUR programs are available:

Program "A" - Student Working Holiday Program (British Universities North American Club - BUNAC)

Applicants must:

1)  Be citizens of and resident in the United Kingdom.

2)  Be aged between 18 and 30 (inclusive).

3)  Be full-time students at a UK university.

4)  Have not participated in program “A” or “C” before.

5)  Have sufficient funds for their maintenance during their initial period of
     stay in Canada.

6)  Have a clean criminal record. Please submit a police certificate for
     every country where you resided over 6 months.

7)  Pay the Participation Fee of CAD $150 (£70 - Current fee rate
     as of Monday December 10th 2007).
 

Program "B" - General Working Holiday Program (BUNAC)

The criteria are similar to Program "A" above, except that it is open to non-students up to the age of 30 inclusively.

Program "C" - Student General Working Holiday Program - Employer specific.

Applicants must:

1)  Be citizens of and resident in the United Kingdom.

2)  Be aged between 18 and 30 (inclusive).

3)  Be full-time students at a UK university. Applicants must provide an
     unconditional letter of acceptance, a letter confirming their return to
     studies or proof that they have completed their studies within the previous
     12 months. Students completing A levels, HND or BTEC courses are not
     eligible to participate unless they have been unconditionally accepted to
     continue studies in a university program. This means the document must
     allow you entrance into University.

4)  Provide a written job offer from a Canadian employer on letterhead paper.
     The job offer must state the salary, period of employment, job title,
     explanation of duties and that the employment is full-time. If doing an
     unpaid traineeship, applicants must provide proof of sufficient funds to
     cover the work placement.

5)  Have sufficient funds for their maintenance during their initial period of stay
     in Canada.

6)  Have not participated in program “A” or “C” before.

7)  Have a clean criminal record. Please submit a police certificate for every
     country where you resided over 6 months.

8)  Pay the Participation Fee of CAD $150 (£70 - Current fee rate as of
     Monday December 10th 2007).

If you wish to participate in the Student General Working Holiday Program please provide evidence that you meet the requirements as outlined above, complete and return the application form to be found on the FORMS page, with a copy of the identity page of your passport, two passport size photographs, an updated résumé, a recent police certificate for every country where your resided over six months, and a self-addressed stamped envelope which will be used to return your documents. On the top of the application form, write "STUDENT GENERAL WORKING HOLIDAY". Please do not submit your passport.

Work permits are valid for employment with the named employer only.

The maximum validity of a work permit issued under any of the above programs is 12 months.

Program "C" - Gap Activity Projects

This program provides volunteering opportunities for youths between the age of 18 and 25. You must be a full-time university student or have an unconditional offer from a United Kingdom university. Please contact G.A.P. for more information.
